“Humanity, like the elements of Earth—air, water, fire, and soil—is inseparably bound to all living things. My artwork, stitched from repurposed neckties, reflects these ‘ties that bind,’ symbolizing our shared responsibility and deep connection with the Earth. As Thich Nhat Hanh reminds us, ‘The earth is not just our environment. We are the earth and the earth is us. We have always been one with the earth.’ And as Chief Seattle wisely said, ‘Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it… All things are bound together, all things connect.’ In each piece, I aim to honor this sacred interconnectedness—a reminder that what we do to the Earth, we ultimately do to ourselves.”
